Presentation of Bills
The Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka, Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms and the Chief Government Whip presented the following Bills entitled-

(i)    Intellectual Property (Amendment) - to amend the Intellectual Property Act, No. 36 of 2003
(ii)    Trusts (Amendment) - to amend the Trusts Ordinance (Chapter 87)


Private Members’ Bills
(i)    The Hon. J. M. Ananda Kumarasiri was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Sri Natha Ahasthana International Buddhist Meditation Centre Performance Society (Incorporation)”

(ii)    The Hon. Ishak Rahuman was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Nimal Rupasinghe Friendship Foundation (Incorporation)”

The above Bills (i) and (ii) were referred to the Minister of Buddhasasana and Minister of Education respectively for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47(5) of the Parliament.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1356 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Wednesday 24th January 2018.
