(i)    Annual Performance Reports of the Sri Lanka Army for the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010

(ii)    Order made by the Minister of Higher Education and Highways under Section 27(1) of the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978 on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission with regard to the establishment of a Department of English Language Teaching in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenapura and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2053/24 of 10th January 2018

(iii)    Order made by the Minister of Higher Education and Highways under Section 27(1) of the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978 on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission with regard to the establishment of a Faculty of Technology of the Sabaragamuwa University and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2056/5 of 29th January 2018


Presentation of Reports from the Committees

(i)    The Report of the Committee on Standing Orders was presented by its Chairman, the Hon. Karu Jayasuriya.
(ii)    The Report of the Committee on Public Finance was presented by its Chairman, the Hon. M. A. Sumanthiran.
(iii)    The Report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Legal Affairs (anti-corruption) and Media was presented by its Chairman, the Hon. Ajith Mannapperuma.

Main Business of the House for Today

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 5 of today’s Order Paper) were approved by the House-

(i)    Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties Bill - with amendments
(ii)    Safeguard Measures Bill - with amendments
(iii)    International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance Bill - Division was taken (53 in favour; 16 against)
(iv)    Revised Draft Standing Orders of Parliament - with amendments
(v)    Code of Conduct for Members of Parliament


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1835 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Thursday 8th March 2018.
