The Second Regional Conference of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communal and Religious Harmony in Sri Lanka was successfully concluded on the 01st of October 2018 from 9.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at the Monty Hotel, Ampara with the leadership of the Hon. Speaker of Parliament and the participation of Most Ven. Maha Nayaka and Anu Nayaka Theras, most venerable clergy belonging to all the religions, the Hon. Ministers and Hon. Members of Parliament representing all the political parties, the important government officials of the area and leaders of Indigenous people of Sri Lanka.
Various important topics on the Communal and Religious Harmony of Sri Lanka were subjected to discussion in this conference which was conducted under the theme “National and Religious Harmony towards Sustainability of Sri Lanka”.
This was the first regional conference conducted after establishing the Parliamentary Committee on Communal and Religious Harmony in Sri Lanka as a Parliamentary Select Committee.
The Third Regional Conference is scheduled to be held on the 21st of January 2019 from 9.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. in Galle.
